WORK NOTICE 23

The Last Light

A notice about an actual published light puzzle using the familiar cross-toggle rule.

Written

Turning one light off can bring its neighbours back on.

The Last Light offers three company-authored four-by-four starting arrangements. Press a square to flip its light and the squares immediately above, below, left and right. The change stops at the board’s edges; diagonals stay as they are. You may press a square that is already off. Aim to leave all sixteen lights off.

Switch between the boards whenever you like. Each keeps its own lights and Undo history during this visit. Undo restores the previous arrangement. Restart this board returns only that board to its starting lights as one change; Undo can bring back the arrangement you left.

The game credits Simon Tatham’s Flip documentation for the familiar cross-toggle rule. There is no clock or required move count. Progress lasts for this visit: reloading starts all three again, and nothing is saved automatically.
