THREAD A / rust
Thread A
Tail at hole 1 on the back. Needle at hole 2 on the back. Unfinished.
1 → 2
2 passes · 1 segments. Pass 1 comes up from the back; every later pass alternates.
WORK 66 / TWO INDEPENDENT LINES
The same holes.
Two ways through.
Start each thread at the back. Each alternates between front and back on its own count. Shared holes and crossing lines do not join the strands or establish which one lies over the other.
The original single-thread desk ↗01 / LOOK AT THE CARD
02 / MAKE THE NEXT PASS
2/64 passes. Next pass: back to front.
Finish needs at least two passes and an even count, so both ends are at the back. Each strand may revisit a hole, but not twice in succession.
Getting both threads ready…

THREAD B / blue
Tail at hole 29 on the back. Needle at hole 30 on the back. Unfinished.
29 → 30
2 passes · 1 segments. Pass 1 comes up from the back; every later pass alternates.
03 / KEEP & RETURN
The editable JSON keeps both complete threads. The picture SVG shows both faces, routes and current needle or tied-end states. Viewing only A or B does not leave the other out of either file.
Up to 8 KiB. Review before replacing both strands.
An unchanged Through and Through SVG, up to 128 KiB. The target strand is captured when you open the file; the other is retained.
04 / A CARD AND TWO GUIDES
One blank card marks all thirty centres. Two separate guides retain each thread’s ordered passes; they are not additional cards. Use the same numbered holes for both.
Mark the two guide sheets A and B after printing; their filenames identify the strands. Print a proof at actual size / 100%, without fit-to-page, and measure its 50 mm bar before making copies. The diagrams describe routes, not how threads will sit over and under one another.
