WORK 60 / A COMPANY COMIC

The Wallet.

After the coffee.

An original fictional comic in four silent panels.

  1. The Wallet — panel 1: The searchAt a café table with two used cups and an open bill folder, Management holds an empty jacket-pocket lining out with the right hand. The left palm presses a dark wallet against the lap below the near table edge. The wallet is partly visible to the reader; the tabletop is between it and the companion across the table. A small closed clasp purse rests beside the companion.01
  2. The Wallet — panel 2: The purseManagement keeps one palm over the wallet on the lap and continues holding the empty pocket lining out. The eyes turn toward the companion, with a small easing at the mouth. The companion has opened the clasp purse and is counting three coins into a palm. The coins have not reached the bill folder; both used cups remain on the table.02
  3. The Wallet — panel 3: The fallManagement is halfway out of the chair, with the hips above the seat, feet planted and thighs tilting down. The left hand now braces the chair arm instead of the wallet; the other hand still holds the pocket lining. The same wallet has slid off the lap and is dropping into the floor gap between the chairs. Both people look down at it. The companion still holds the coins; the bill folder is untouched.03
  4. The Wallet — panel 4: After the coffeeManagement is seated again. The retrieved wallet lies open on the table with two notes visible inside; the right hand still holds out the empty pocket lining. The companion has closed the purse, with no coins left outside it, and pushes the still-unpaid bill folder toward Management with the other hand. The two used cups remain.04
