WORK 61 / A COMPANY COMIC

The Rescue.

Tea and biscuits.

An original fictional comic in four silent panels.

  1. The first biscuitAt the same small tea table, Management dips the first biscuit into a cup. Two complete dry biscuits wait on the plate to the right. A clean teaspoon lies unused on the near edge of the saucer. The gripping fingers touch the dry end; Management looks down towards the tea.01
  2. The scoopThe first wet piece floats in the tea. Its broken dry top now lies on the plate beside one complete spare. Management uses the second biscuit as a scoop towards the floating piece, leaning closer. The clean teaspoon remains untouched in the same place on the saucer.02
  3. The last biscuitTwo dry broken tops now lie on the plate; there is no whole spare. Management holds the dry top of the third biscuit as its wet end visibly separates and drops towards the accumulated pieces in the cup. The eyes follow the break. The same clean teaspoon is still unused on the saucer.03
  4. The rescueExactly three dry broken tops remain on the plate. Management finally holds the same teaspoon and lifts a large spoonful of soggy biscuit from the cup. The former place of the spoon on the saucer is empty. Management looks at the mush with a small, resigned expression; no whole biscuit has been recovered.04
