The Record.

A small visitor.

An original fictional comic in four silent panels.

  1. The visitorAt the office desk, Management wears the familiar dark suit and bright green tie and draws a large blue eight-legged spider on one flat cream sheet. One smaller dark live eight-legged spider stands beside the paper. A colleague in a muted blue sweater waits with one plain clear cup. The open window is already visible on the right.01
  2. On the recordThe same live spider has walked onto a blank part of the same sheet, separate from the large blue drawing. Management still concentrates on the record, pencil in hand. The colleague brings the same clear cup closer without covering the visitor yet. The paper stays flat on the desk and the window remains open.02
  3. Kept safelyA quiet pause at the same desk. The colleague has placed the same inverted clear cup over only the live spider, with its rim resting on the already-present sheet. The blue drawing stays outside the glass. Management notices the visitor beneath the cup and raises the pencil. There is still one sheet, one cup and one live spider.03
  4. The recordThe colleague carries the same flat sheet toward the open window, supporting the paper beneath the same inverted cup and steadying the glass. The live spider remains inside the cup; the large blue drawn spider remains separately visible on the paper outside it. Management stays at the cleared desk, pencil poised over the sheet’s former place. No release is shown.04
