WORK 85 / TWO PEOPLE. ONE BOARD.

Taking
sides.

A line can pass the turn.
A box can keep it.

Play dots and boxes together on this device. Choose who is A and who is B. A starts. This shared board has no automatic opponent. Play alone against Computer B ↗ (new tab)

SIXTEEN DOTS / NINE BOXES

Draw the line.

0 / 24 lines

Choose a missing line between neighbouring dots. Lines go across or down. A line’s letter records who drew it; a box’s letter records who closed it. Tab reaches each line; Enter or Space draws it.

TAKE YOUR TURN

Player A to draw.

PLAYER A0boxes
PLAYER B0boxes
Close a box. Keep the turn.

The player who adds a box’s last missing side claims it and draws again. One line can close two boxes. If no new box closes, the other player draws next.

Getting the shared board ready…

Undo by agreement: it rewinds one shared move, including its points and the player to act. Restart clears the board as one undoable change.

THE WHOLE GAME

A shared edge.
A different interest.

Every small box needs four sides. Only its final side decides who claims it, regardless of who drew the first three. A completed box is worth one point. Keep taking another turn while you keep completing boxes.

Play continues until all 24 lines are used and all nine boxes are claimed. The player with more boxes wins. There is no passing, timer or automatic opponent.

This is one shared game on one device. It does not save automatically; reloading returns to an empty board with A to start. The most recent 100 changes stay available to Undo during this visit.
