The Small Archive · a separate desk

Tape collage

A passage. A pause.
The same sound, another way.

Arrange parts of one recording into a new WAV. Put them in order, turn a passage backwards, or let it happen again.

1. Open a source

Choose a recording you own: complete, uncompressed PCM WAV, mono or stereo, 8-bit or 16-bit, up to 8 MiB.

Nothing is stored automatically. Keep an editable tape below to reopen the original recording and draft parts, or download a prepared WAV to keep the assembled sound.

2. Arrange the parts

0 / 12 parts

Parts run from top to bottom. Times are seconds, rounded to the nearest source frame. Gaps are explicit silence parts. Choose how passage edges are prepared below.

Open a source to put the first passage on the desk.

KEEP THE PARTS, TOO

An editable tape

The working copy includes the full original recording, its name, every draft part in order and the passage-edge choice. It does not include a prepared WAV. Blank or unfinished time fields can be kept; Prepare tape still checks them before making sound.

Keep the JSON file before leaving. Reopen it here to continue editing; nothing is uploaded or saved automatically.

Up to 12 MiB. Opening a file only offers it for review; the tape already here stays available.
