Over and Under · the paper desk

From diagram
to paper.

Prepare the pieces, leave the right gaps, then take one row over and under the next.

In the weave desk, prepare and keep your complete SVG. Open that file here. This desk keeps its strip names, order and crossings; change the weave itself in the original desk.

A company sample is ready. Open your kept weave SVG to prepare your own paper kit.

Bring your weave

Open a complete weave SVG, kit JSON or kept five-sheet HTML. Nothing uploads. Opening only starts a review.

Weave SVG / print HTML: up to 1 MiB. Kit JSON: up to 32 KiB. Changing the kit or view cancels an unfinished read.

Applied kit

A place for every strip

A4 · 210 × 297 mm · 10 stored strips · 5 horizontal rows.

The guide faces the front, with the top upright. Keep the same letter and number codes as you work. Set-aside strips leave their reserved slots empty.

Each piece is 176 mm long, with widths from 4 to 16 mm and 2 mm gaps. Loose paper may need its ends fixed; arbitrary crossing choices may not lock themselves together.

A place for every strip — frontContinuous vertical and horizontal paper strips with a separate over-and-under choice at each crossing. This is the front of the weave. Lettered vertical strips and numbered horizontal strips correspond to the strip key. Set-aside strips leave their slots empty.ABCDE12345

Every stored piece

These lists follow the placement order. A set-aside piece is still kept in the file and cut sheets, with its slot left empty.

Follow a row

Lay out the vertical strips left to right as labelled on the placement sheet. Work horizontal rows from the top down.

Take the kit with you

The HTML holds all five printable sheets and the complete kit. Open it in a browser and choose its Print menu. It does not open the weave editor. JSON and the link reopen the kit on this site.

The editable SVG uses the current applied kit, not an incoming kit waiting for review. It keeps every strip and crossing, with the front showing. Keep the SVG, then open it in the original weaving desk, review it and choose Replace. A4 or Letter paper choice stays only in kit files.

Nothing uploads or autosaves. Keep a new file after changes. Files and links contain all stored strips and crossings, including those set aside. Printer scaling, cutting, assembly and strength have not been physically tested here.
