01 / DRAW THE UNIT
The source.
Paint with ink or paper. A continuous drag is one change. Use Inspect / scroll to move around the grid without drawing; each cell is also a keyboard button.

Shift the unit
Move every cell one place. Cells crossing an edge wrap to the opposite edge; none are lost. The source unit moves before the chosen reflections make its neighbours. One Undo restores the complete earlier unit.

Keep the overlapping cells at the top left. New cells begin as paper. Review any cropped marks before applying.
02 / SEE THE NEIGHBOURS
Nine copies.
Column 2 mirrors horizontally when enabled; row 2 mirrors vertically. The centre copy can be reflected. Adjacent copies touch at their edges.
Select a field cell to trace it to the unit. White and coral inspection frames and copy boundaries are guides; neither is kept in the SVG.

Field row 1, column 1 → unit row 1, column 1. Copy row 1, column 1; no horizontal mirror, no vertical mirror. This cell is ink. All nine occurrences of the same source cell are marked.
