WORK 39 / EIGHT FRAMES, NO MEETING
A Small
Movement.
The chair leaves its post.
Management can put it in the minutes. You have eight frames and four colours to make your own small departure.
Draw shared scenery and transparent cels — new tab. This flat-film desk stays open with your current work.
The drawing desk
Editing 1 / 8Click a cell, or press Enter or Space: Paint colours it; Fill replaces its connected colour; Select chooses a corner. Arrows move focus, Home / End go to the row ends, Ctrl + Home / End go to the frame ends. Paper is an opaque colour.
In Paint, drag to draw a stroke. Skipped cells are connected; leaving the grid breaks the line until you re-enter. Release to keep one stroke, then Undo to remove it. Escape, cancellation or changing controls discards an unfinished stroke. Fill works by cell activation, not dragging. Touch scrolling works outside this grid and in Fill or Select.
The screening room, frame strip, GIF, PNG sheet and film link use finished strokes only.
Move a drawn detail
Copy the previous frame, select a detail here, then move it into its next pose. Pixels outside the source and destination rectangles stay as they are.
No rectangle selected.
Positive values go right and down; negative values go left and up.
Face the other way
Mirror every pixel inside this rectangle, including Paper. Pixels outside it and all other frames stay as they are. The rectangle stays in place; one Undo restores the previous pixels.
A move fills the old rectangle with Paper and overwrites the destination with every selected pixel, including Paper. Pixels past the frame edge are discarded; Undo restores them. There is no hidden background to uncover or off-frame buffer. The marked rectangle follows only the part still inside.
Rectangle and corner guides appear only at this desk. They are absent from the preview, GIF, PNG sheet and film link.
Let a detail appear again.
Select a rectangle above, then copy it into any pose. The selected frame remains the source even when you are editing another one. Each copy reads the source as it is now; you can use it again.
No source rectangle selected. Use Select or the rectangle corner controls above.
The destination preview appears after you select a source rectangle.
Copy does not clear the source. Every selected pixel is opaque, including Paper, and overwrites the destination. A same-frame overlap can cover part of the source. Other pixels stay as they are. One Undo restores the previous film.
Only the explicit copy changes the film. Draft controls, this proposed result and its guides stay out of playback, GIFs and film links. Unfinished paint strokes are discarded before copying. Reordering a frame carries the destination choice with that pose.
Undo keeps the last 100 film edits, including rhythm, frame order, moves, mirrors, copies, clears and whole-film changes. Pixel Undo restores pixels and the rectangle selection while keeping the current rhythm. Rhythm Undo restores only the holds and pauses preview. Undoing a frame move follows the currently edited and previewed poses back, carries their current holds and pauses preview. Other pixel edits leave those positions and playback as they are. Tool, ink, move amounts, onion guide and base pace stay as they are.
Eight frames on the desk
Choose one to editPut the poses in order.
Move editing frame 1 to another position. The other poses shift along; none is overwritten.
A move pauses preview. Both the editing and previewed poses follow their new positions, and any rectangle stays with its pose. One Undo restores a changed order. Each hold travels with its pose.
The supplied miniature is yours to change. The chair returns to its post when the loop begins again.
Move the picture with a striped mask.
A SMALL MOVEMENT / FOUR POSES ON PAPER
A little movement.
By hand.
Four poses share one picture. A separate striped mask reveals them in turn as it moves to the right. Choose from your committed drawings; the film stays on its desk.
The mask covers three quarters of the picture. You see narrow strips, with a darker result. Movement uses four equal positions; the film’s pace and holds are not printed.
This is a digital alignment guide. The printed result depends on scale, alignment and how opaque the dark stripes are.
Two sheets. One matching pair.
The picture is 96 × 96 mm. The mask is 120 × 120 mm, with extra coverage for sliding. Both downloads use A4 portrait sheets and a 50 mm scale bar.
Keep both again after changing drawings or sequence choices. Moving the preview mask does not change the print pair. Keep your film link or complete cels JSON separately to return to the drawings.
- Print both sheets at actual size / 100%, with fit-to-page off. Check that each scale bar measures 50 mm. Use ordinary paper for the picture.
- The mask needs a transparent sheet you already have, with genuinely clear gaps and opaque dark stripes. Ordinary white paper is opaque: unprinted gaps on paper do not become clear or turn into holes. Use a printing method suitable for your material.
- Cut the mask at its marked 120 mm square. Place its corners at the matching corner guides around the picture; keep its vertical stripes parallel to the picture’s sides. At this alignment, position 1 is visible.
- Keep the mask close and flat. Slide it right by 1.5 mm at a time, up to 4.5 mm for position 4; slide back to reverse. Check one proof before making more.
PASS IT ALONG
A small movement can travel.
The chair has eight frames to leave its post. You can revise the evidence.
