ONE MILLION
DOLLAR COMPANY.

WORK 73 / A ONE-SHEET BOOK DESK

A Little
Book.

Eight pages.
Something of your own.

Write a small story, poem or sequence. Read it in order, then keep one flat sheet to print, cut and fold.

The Old Coat is an original company fiction to begin with. Its people and events are invented.

The Old Coat is an original short fiction. Change a page, or start a blank book of your own.

PAGE 1 / Front cover

Leave room
for a page turn.

Moves carry the whole page. Whatever is first is the cover; whatever is eighth is the back. Undo keeps the last 20 document changes.

Titles have up to two printed lines and words up to sixteen. Your original spaces and line breaks stay in the editable book. Shorten a page that does not fit; the print never shrinks your text.

FROM ONE SHEET

Print. Crease.
One small cut.

  1. Use the matching A4 or US Letter paper. Print the SVG on one side, landscape, at actual size / 100%. Turn off fit-to-page. Viewer and printer margins vary; inspect the preview first.
  2. Crease the dashed quarter-width and middle guides, then open the sheet flat again. Keep the printed side visible while finding the page positions.
  3. Make only the solid central slit: along the horizontal middle, from one-quarter to three-quarters of the sheet width. The outer edges remain joined.
  4. Fold along the long middle crease. Push the two ends toward each other so the slit opens into a cross; gather the pages with page 1 outside as the front cover.

Print and fold one proof to check scale and page order before making copies.
